Articles: Marshall Islands' Mejerik Club Charter Formalized
First Lady Lieom Anono Loeak and Mejerik Club Officers met March 13 at the Republic of the Marshall Islands’ (RMI) Attorney General's office to formalize the historic Club's new Charter and Bylaws as a non-profit corporation.
The Mejerik Club was first formed by former First Lady, Mrs. Emlain Kabua, the wife of RMI’s founding President Amata Kabua.
The Club was establish to promote the preservation of community and cultural values, including:
- Beauty, cleanliness, health, and peace within the community;
Networking, pooling of ideas to recommend and encourage studies and initiatives to combat hardships faced daily by the community;
- Preservation of Marshallese custom, cultural heritage, and language for Marshall Islands children and their future.
